Arizona has 11 billionaires in 2023, according to Forbes Magazine’s annual list of the world’s richest people. And, according to Forbes, U-Haul’s Mark Shoen ranks No. 1 among the richest people in Arizona, with a net worth of $4.8 billion in 2023,which ranks him at No. 592 on Forbes’ list globally. Arturo Moreno, Joe Shoen, Bob Parsons and Bennett Dorrance round out the Top 5 richest in Arizona.

The magazine said it used stock prices and exchange rates to compile the list, so their estimates fortunes have likely changed due to the impact of the struggling stock market. Everyone had to have an estimated net worth of at least $1 billion to make the Forbes List.

5. Bennett Dorrance, developer and Campbell Soup heir, $3.4 billion

6. Ernest Garcia II, Carvana controlling shareholder, $3.1 billion

7. Stewart Horejsi and family, Berkshire Hathaway investor, $2.7 billion

8. George Kurtz, CrowdStrike cybersecurity co-founder, $1.9 billion

9. Peter Sperling, former Apollo Education Group executive, $1.6 billion

10. Jerry Moyes and family, Swift Transportation co-founder, $1.5 billion

11. Jahm Najafi, private-equity investor and Phoenix Suns part-owner, $1.3 billion
